The French Language
If you wake up one day and decide “I want to learn French, the best way is through French immersion ie, utilizing one ofthe French language study abroad programs. Although there are thousands of programs that offer French for beginners, they differ in cost and quality.
The best way to learn French is by going to France. Most people take French class in high school or at university or French lessons online but those will only get you so far. If you would like to study and actually learn French grammar and phrases, you’ve got to go where it’s spoken natively or you’ll spend a lot more time trying to master it.
The main reason for this is it will be easier to learn French if you need it to survive. If you try French language training in an English speaking environment, you’ll probably only work on your French lessons while doing homework or in class. And even though you might only speak French during class, that’s several hours a week, a lot less time than if you were in France.

When you’re in France, you’ll get to practice all the time. You won’t only learn French phrases from your intensive French courses; you’ll also speak with strangers on the street, try to decipher street signs, purchase food at the local market, etc. Almost everything that you do there will help you to learn French offering a much better choice than continuing to study it in a non French speaking country.
There are that many things you’ll need to learn before journeying to France but, you won’t need to learn all the French words, just the crucial conversational words. Before going make sure to buy a good French survival phrases book. Granted, it won’t be much but it will help you to get through to some of the locals. Most locals know English so asking nicely should be your first approach, but there’s no point in pushing that issue especially if you’re the one asking for help.
